About the project

State-of-the-art Data Center, built in compliance with the TIA-942 international standard, Tier III level

BCR Chișinău has launched the design and construction of a state-of-the-art Data Center, built in compliance with the TIA-942 international standard, Tier III level. Beyond its role as a primary data hub, the facility is designed to function as a Disaster Recovery Center

⚙️ Technological Architecture – BCR Chișinău Data Center (Tier III, TIA-942)

🔌 Electrical Infrastructure

  • Dual power supply (A+B) – each rack has two independent energy sources.
  • Modular UPS systems – ensure continuity in case of short interruptions.
  • Diesel generators and network redundancy – extended autonomy for uninterrupted operation.
  • Intelligent distribution system (monitored PDUs) – real-time control and reporting of energy consumption.

🌡️ HVAC and Climate Systems

  • N+1 redundancy – each cooling unit has active backup.
  • Optimized airflow (hot aisle / cold aisle containment) – energy efficiency and equipment protection.
  • Continuous monitoring – IoT sensors for temperature, humidity, seismic activity, and pressure.

📡 Network and Telecommunications

  • Multi-carrier connectivity – redundancy at the internet provider level.
  • Redundant core switching – spine-leaf architecture for minimal latency.
  • VLAN segmentation and SDN – flexibility and security in resource allocation.

🔒 Physical and Cybersecurity

  • Biometric access and smart cards – strict entry control.
  • 24/7 video surveillance – IP cameras with intelligent analytics.

🧯 Protection and Safety Systems

  • Early fire detection (VESDA) – air sampling for fine particle identification.
  • Inert gas suppression (INERGEN) – equipment protection without damage.
  • Redundant alarm and evacuation systems – safety for personnel and infrastructure.

🌟 Technological Benefits for the Bank

  • Guaranteed availability – SLA of 99.982% according to Tier III.
  • Incident resilience – full redundancy across power, cooling, and network.
  • Scalability – infrastructure ready for data growth and digital applications.
  • Multi-layer security – integrated physical and cyber protection.
  • Energy efficiency – reduced costs through modern cooling and distribution technologies.
  • International compliance – adherence to TIA-942 standards and banking regulatory requirements.
